  1. Engine Ufim 8.02 (700) and (800) hangs on after first 3 or 4 moves. Doesn’t matter tutor is on or off.
    Bug was in 10.03 too.

    1. 3 or 4 moves means that it doesn´t work, because it is after opening. Try to launch from the exe directly, to test if work in your PC.

    2. Launched directly from exe works good.
Ufim 8.02 (full strenght ELO) works good.
Problems are with dimminshed ELO personalities of this engine only.
All Ufims with dimm ELO hangs on after 3 moves, while main program works good.
After reinit and my first move Ufims don't respond.
      System config: C2D E8400, 4GB RAM, Win 7 64-bit.

    3. When you play against a fixed elo engine, it is preferable that depth used was 0, because the problem will be that needs 1 hour to go to depth 4 by example working at 10nps. Each engine has its own way to reduce its strength, Ufim I have no idea, perhaps is of this type. Check playing with depth 0.

    4. You are right. When I set depht 0 no problem persistent. Ufims with fixed elo work good.

  2. Hello Lucas! Can i insert an external engine as internal engine? Thanks again!

  3. Hey Lucas,

Congrats on another great new version.

I have noticed that in version 10, the Tourney Engine opponents do not work nearly as well as they do in version 9. Once the opponent is taken out of book (or immediately on move on if opening book is turned off), the opponent basically freezes up quite often and will never move. I have tried adjourning the game and restarting at that point a couple of times, and it still wouldn't work. One time, the adjourned game just vanished altogether, too.

Let me know if you need any more info.

    1. Hi Phillip, you could reinstall the last release 10.04. I am playing in this moment against emilio without any freeze.
There were problems with version 10.00 but not in this in my tests.

    2. I am using a fresh install of 10.04. I just tried playing wanda again. Went out of book on move 2, it immediately froze and never moved. Won on time.

    3. I have tested it in other PC without problem.
Then, I need to know which are the circunstances that cause the error.
Well, file bug.log can have the information.
Send me please if it has more than one line (it is a text file, can be readed with notepad)

      = XMotor.py

and copies in the Code folder, you delete file XMotor.pyo and rerun again and test the program.

    6. I tried both inserting the new file and a clean install. Both times as soon we exit the book, wanda stops moving.

      With Lucas chess not launched:

      Remove Code\XMotor.pyo
Then copy the file I send in Code\XMotor.py

Remove file bug.log, then rerun program

      Use the option: Elo-rating, Tourney-elo, Wanda, ....

And please send me a pastebin bug.log

    4. I think it is working. Want to run a few more tests. Will try to do so tomorrow. The first time I ran it, I didn't think it was working so I exited out but there was nothing in bug.log. I tried it two more times and it worked well. Will test more, but it's probably working.

    5. Tried it again, program never moved. Bug.log was completely empty.

    7. I don´t find the sense. It seems like the file XMotor(.py or .pyo) is not in the directory.

You could test again, deleting first file XMotor.py and XMotor.pyo, and copying the next, in the Code folder:

    9. Today I have tried to run the program in a W10 64bits.
I have used a copy of my configuration and problems have appear. First, Config has 64bmi2 marked, and this PC is not bmi2, then when tutor have tried to do its work the program has frozen.
Also I have passed a compatibility test and this says that is compatible with Windows Vista Service Pack 2

    16. bug.log says that one of the engines is not working.
If you use an external engine based in an internal engine, the path of internal is changed in this version, then this external engine is not valid.

    17. Used the same exact thing every time I've tested. It worked last night and then not today.

  5. Hi I would like to make blindfold/textual tactic exercises.

    "black play and win

    White : Kd1 Re1
    black : Kd3 Rc3 "

There's a lot of ressources on the internet but it would need some kind of converter.
I didn't find any website who really propose that.
Do you have this avalaible ?
(or had in mind to implement it)

LINUX - First binary version

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. It has only been made possible by the great work done by Laudecir Daniel , choosing and compiling the 67 engines, as well as laying the groundwork so that the binaries can be more widely used and others such as shortcut creation, installation scripts, ...... In addition,  Graham O'Neill  has provided Linux-specific drivers for several digital boards. This version has two limitations : 64-bit Linux OS only. Minimum GNU libc version: 2.26 (ldd --version shows it) Installation has been made as simple as possible: The installer is a .sh file, generated with the  makeself  tool, and can be downloaded from: SourceForge , GitHub The file must be run from a terminal with user permissions only: sh ./LucasChessR123_LINUX.sh Launches a GUI with very basic options: Install: Installs in LucasChessR folder inside the home user folder. Generates a shortcut in Applications > Games Launch the application at the end

This update contains a major improvement with the inclusion of Maia. Maia is a neural network chess engine, created with the purpose of making her movements as human as possible.
